It's been reported that the DCEU show Peacemaker has been a big winner for HBOMax, even beating out Disney's The Book Of Boba Fett in popularity during their respective runs. Well, now it's being reported that the recent season finale of James Gunn’s Peacemaker has set a new record for its streaming service.
The series continued to build up its audience from week to week since its debut on January 13th with the finale’s viewership up 23% compared to the previous episode and up 44% compared to the series premiere.
It also had the biggest single-day performance for a Max Original series ever, while social media engagement for the series has been a smash – the series finale trending at #2 nationwide on Twitter the other day.
The eight-episode series has already been renewed for a second season with Gunn set to write and direct every episode of the new run (Jody Hill, Rosemary Rodriguez, and Brad Anderson helmed one each of the first season).
Gunn is also set to do another Suicide Squad-related spin-off series in addition to season 2 of Peacemaker.
