Get your Pip-boy's ready because we have some fun casting news. Walton Goggins has been cast to lead the Amazon Prime adaptation of "Fallout". The show is based on the popular post nuclear war video game from Bethesda Softworks.
The setting will be familiar to players of the game as the show will follow a group of survivors as they emerge from their long-term nuclear vaults and adventure out into the radiated wastelands in search of much needed supplies.
Goggins is rumored to be playing a Ghoul, a mutant human who has been exposed to prolonged radiation left from the great war. It should be very interesting to see how this type of character interacts with the vault dwellers.
Fallout has had multiple entries in the series dating back to 1997 when Interplay released the first game. The series has been met with a range of accolades in its history as well as receiving its share of criticisms in later entries. But, it is a setting that is rife with fun possibilities. A name like Walton Goggins attached to it is definitley a positive.
Graham Wagner and Geneva Robertson-Dworet are attached as co-showrunners and executive producers. Jonathan Nolan will direct the pilot. Nolan, Lisa Joy, Athena Wickham, Todd Howard and James Altman will executive produce.
Look for filming to begin later this year - 2022.
