The Salty Nerds take a look at Star Trek TOS - Balance of Terror! This is the episode of the Original Series where the Romulans are introduced into the Star Trek universe and Captain Kirk matches wits with the Romulan commander in a deadly game of cat-and-mouse that is reminiscent of World War 2 submarine battles. William Shatner delivers one of his best performances as James T. Kirk in this episode, and Leonard Nimoy as Spock has to deal with a lot of bigotry against Vulcans. This is one of Alex's and Kadish's favorite Star Trek episodes because it reminds them of their favorite submarine movies like The Hunt For Red October and Run Silent Run Deep. We also get a lot of great Star Trek Lore-Building in this episode as we're introduced to the Neutral Zone and the Romulan War.
