There is a wave of controversy surrounding the recent Oscar Nominations, not the least of which is the transgender foreign language crime comedy musical Emilia Perez snatching 13 Oscar Nominations, including "Best Actress" for its biological male lead. Surprisingly, it seems a LOT of people don't like this movie, for various reasons, across all political spectrums. Is this more proof of the Oscars irrelevance?
